Commander
Enrich: Often times as members of Arnold Air Society we lost sight of the big picture and one of our main objectives: to “aid in the development of effective Air Force officers” (AASMAN-1). We become focused on completing our tasks, and forgetting why we do what we do. Everything we do is sharpening our “leadership, management, organizational, and public relations skills” (AASMAN-1). To keep our focus on making ourselves better officer candidates, it is important we find new ways to be professionally developed. The Air Force Association offers a variety of professional development opportunities at the local, state, and national level. National conferences are free with your AFA membership and offer opportunities to listen, learn, and met senior AF leadership. We will inform every member of the society of existing professional development opportunities as well as new initiatives you can take.
Enlarge: AAS produces the strongest officer candidates AFROTC offers the Air Force. However, it must be our goal to supply the Air Force with as many of these candidates as possible. That being said, it would obviously do no good to sacrifice our quality to enlarge our society. We want you to continue to keep our society honorary by keeping high standards for membership. We will enlarge our society by contacting cadre at detachments offering assistance to re-activating inactive squadrons and creating new squadrons. Every cadet in the country should be afforded the opportunity to join AAS.
Enable: AAS now has new resources through the online database established this past year. Used correctly, the society can have incredible abilities. National and Area level emails will unite our society, every member will have a contact profile, a new progressive website is ready for use, and paper forms are thing of the past. Last year was spent creating capabilities and, if selected, this year will be spent enabling you.
Vision: Congratulations AAS, Vision 2007 has largely been complete due to your efforts. If selected, we will use the feedback cards we have supplied to create a new vision. A vision of where you want the society to be in the future. At NATCON 2007, we will bid farewell to Vision 2007 and vote to pass your vision for the society’s future.
