National Director of Support

Fostering Development: Enriching cadets is the underlying mission of Arnold Air Society framed in a service organization. The goal of AAS is to make cadets more professionally developed than normal ROTC cadets. This process starts at the beginning of their AAS career, member candidate season. If selected, I will enable CTOs to develop ways to put an emphasis on professional development during their MCS season. They will be able to use a collection of events and ideas, such as etiquette dinners, that will be made from my own experiences, from the Areas staffs, and from the feedback cards we provided. After a cadet finishes MCS the professional development does not stop. In addition to the leadership position members may hold in AAS, use of the professional development ideas we will provide should continue. Already established development opportunities are open to everyone in the form of ARCON and NATCON. These conclaves should be attended by as many members as possible. These conclaves provide opportunities to encounter and apply professional conduct, listen to experienced guest speakers, and enhance members view of the societies big picture. Also, it is important to utilizing resources that Silver Wings and the Air Force Association can provide to further the professionalism and of AAS cadets.

Air Force Association: The AFA provides endless opportunities for enrichment through conventions, and other resources. National conventions are held in L.A., Orlando, and Washington D.C. and are an opportunity to be professional developed along with AF officers. These conventions offer forums and dialogue with the Air Force’s most senior leadership. The best part of this is registration (often over $800) is free for you! All you have to pay for is travel and board. Local chapters provide endless resources from active and retired Air Force members and are more than willing to promote and the support squadron activities. They can also get you involved with state conventions that provide development opportunities much like the national conventions.

Continuing Paperless Awards Submission: This past year was a first for online award submissions. It went smoothly and it is now much easier to send in awards. In addition to gaining recognition, writing bullet statements for awards packets is a great learning experience seeing as officers we will be filling performance reports and awards for our troops. If selected, I will make outstanding examples of past awards submissions available electronically for your convenience.
