BIOGRAPHY:
Megan was born and raised in the small town of Big Timber, Montana. She and her younger sister, Bonnie, were very active in 4-H and FFA and spent much of their time raising their own flock of market sheep at their grandmother’s. She grew up around many different animals ranging from rabbits and chickens to dogs and horses. She has her parents and the rest of her family to thank for their constant support in all that she attempts. In fifth grade her science teacher guided her and several of her classmates to enter and win a NASA design competition. This resulted in an eye opening trip to Washington D.C. and Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. Since then, she has dreamed of becoming a mission specialist astronaut. This led her to Air Force ROTC at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as a great way to get an excellent education and become a member of the best aerospace force in the world. She is a cadet at AFROTC Det 028 and will commission on 4 May 2007 as an Astronautical Engineer working in the field of Research and Development. She hopes to attend the Air Force Institute of Technology immediately after graduation. This is her fifth year in Silver Wings and she has held the positions of Chapter Development Officer, Chapter Vice President, Region Parliamentarian, 2004-2005 National President, National Parliamentarian, and now National Business Chair. Megan is also currently the Student Government Treasurer at her school. In her ever decreasing spare time, Megan enjoys playing volleyball, trap shooting, and golf. She also loves to travel and spent last summer studying abroad in Sienna, Italy.
